Germany
1. Current political system is a federal parliamentary republic. The past political system starting seventy five years ago, was introduced with democracy with a highly liberal constitution, democracy was undermined by Adolf HItler in 1929. In the eyes of the german public democracy had failed them, their country was divided, impoverished and humiliated. And so they accused the jews who were internally associated with the political left-socialists and communists which was made responsible by HItler. From 1930 onward, Germany was locked in a stalemate. Democratic forms remained, but democracy itself was in effect dead, or at least dying. In the 1950's Germany was decentralized and federalism was instituted. In 1949 Germany was divided into east and west and served as a symbol of the divided world, from there east Germany was a socialist republic that began to institute a governmnet based on that of the soviet union. West germany became a parliamentary democracy with a capitalist economic system. In 1990 Germany was reunited and became the federal republic of germany. From 1998-2005 Germany was a christian democratic union. It remained so until 2008 when it became a federalist country. Since 2008 it has been a federal parliamentary republic. Germany's evolution has seen tremendous change in the past seventy five years. Monarchy to fractious parliament to authoritarian dictatorship, democracy/communist state to democracy. Was a dictatorship under hitler before the times of the wienmar republic.
2. current head of state is chancellor Angela Merkle. gained by a fair election in 2012.
3. Major export is motor vehicles, machinery, chemicals, computer and electronic products, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, metals, transport equipment, foodstuffs, textiles, rubber and plastic products. Major import is machinery, data processing equipment, vehicles, chemicals, oil and gas, metals, electric equipment, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, agricultural products. This can tell you what their major import/exports are and their strengths and weaknesses. It also gives you an idea of what their economy is like. And their relationships with neighboring countries. The United States potential interest in Germany would be because their economy is a developed first world economy and the United States would be interested because Germany has goods and products useful to the United States development, economy, and trading with other countries.
4. Germany is an ally to the United States. This was made official when they joined Nato. This joined Germany and the United States, bonding them not only as trading partners but they comply with us in case we are ever in need of help during war. The United States along with all allied powers helped to rebuild Germany after defeating them in world war two helping them to become what they are now.
5. We do trade with Germany. We trade both raw materials and manufactured goods. The nature of business has been lucrative for both.
6. In world war two we didn't get along because we fought them because they were axis powered. After the war we helped build their country and many Germans are thankful for that. Recently relationships have been strained based on the prism project and collecting mega data on Angelina Merkels phone.
7. The current United States foreign policy towards Germany is to preserve and consolidate a close and vital relationship with Germany, not only as friends and trading partners, but also as allies sharing common institutions. The United States recognizes that the security and prosperity of the United States and Germany significantly depend on one other. The bilateral political, economic, and security relationships are based on close consultation at the most significant levels, and the United States and Germany coincide actively in international forums. As allies in NATO, the United States and Germany work side by side to maintain peace and freedom. U.S. and German troops work together in NATO and united nation operations worldwide because of the joint training and capacity-building performed at U.S. military installations in Germany. Prime examples would be Germany’s part in the UN-mandated International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. German and U.S. maritime forces also are deployed to combat piracy off the Horn of Africa. Following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, Germany has been a reliable U.S. ally in efforts against terrorism.
